Questions:
I'll need some basic biographical information.
It is very important that the responses be honest and as detailed as
possible:
-- Name (if you choose to give it; otherwise, I can just use your first
name, or you can make up a name. If you make up a name please let me know
so I can say that in my paper)
-- Age
-- City and country
-- Country of origin (if different from current residence)
-- Have you ever contracted a mut'a marriage?
-- If so, when, for how long, and why did you choose a temporary marriage
(vs. dating, a permanent marriage, etc.)
-- Would you like to contract a temporary marriage in the future? If so,
when, for how long, and why?
-- If you have contracted a mut'a marriage or plan to, did you/will you
tell your family? Why or why not?
-- Do you have any friends/relatives (please specify male or female) who
have contracted temporary marriages? What did you think of their decision?
-- Do you think your community has an opinion on mut'a marriages? Can you
describe that opinion?
-- Do you consider yourself a religious person? Do your beliefs affect
your consideration of mut'a marriages, and how?
-- Do you think that there are double standards for men and women in
temporary marriages? (That it is ok for men but not for women?) Please
explain.
-- Do you see a difference between a legal acceptance of mut'a marriage
for men or women and social acceptance? Please explain.
-- Do you hope to have a permanent marriage one day? Do you think having a
temporary marriage will affect your chances of having a permanent marriage
in the future?
-- Some people have equated mut'a marriage with prostitution for women.
What do you think of this?
-- Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. Thanks!
